HSBC GSC SPORTSFEST '08

| Posted in | Posted on Monday, September 29, 2008

Several months ago I signed up to play bowling with my coworkers for this year's sportsfest. Unknown to most, bowling is one of my favorite sports. Word to Paeng. I started playing when I was in grade school when my parents participated a couple of times a week in different tourneys across the metro. I still remember when scores were written either on paper or clear acetate and shown using an old school projector. I had my own balls, bowling shoes, wrister and even bowling shirts with my name on them.

For some reason I stopped playing the sport. I guess I grew out of it or maybe the push to play the sport wasn't there anymore. Too bad because I was kinda good at it. Not good good but better than your average drunken player. Ha ha.

The last time I bowled was last year in San Francisco during a team night with my AT&T co-workers. I totally sucked. This time I made sure we'd win. Spoiler alert! I averaged 146 after playing 3 games. Not bad for someone who's out of shape and with no practice. I should've hustled my coworkers for money. Ha ha.

Met up with the participants at the HSBC campus and headed to the venue around 12:30pm. Playdium Bowling and Billiards is located in the funeral parlor area along Araneta Avenue. From outside the place looks like a shit hole but I was surprised how nice it was once I walked in.

I really REALLY like this place. You should check it out.
