Vans and Independent Truck Co. Launch New Pieces

Synonymous for their rich history and leadership in skateboarding, Vans and Independent Truck Co.—“The Original Tools of the Trade,” have come together again for fall 2014 with a new collection of Vans x Independent footwear and apparel.

The second installment of the Vans x Indy partnership renews new styles and core staples from the Vans Pro Skate footwear line such as the latest signature style from Vans and Indy shared rider, Anthony Van Engelen’s AV Classic, built on Vans’ legendary original Waffle outsole with OrthoLite® foam footbeds for added comfort and impact protection, and featuring an all-over tonal reflective printed Vans x Independent statement design plus logo detailing. Joining AVE’s latest style in theVans x Independent footwear collection are the [Rowley] Pro and the Chukka Low, each donning custom collaboration logos and color schemes to unify the collection.

The new apparel offering presents seasonal pieces such as the Vans x Indy crew neck fleece sweater, a distressed denim vest equipped with Vans x Indy logo patches.

As original manufacturers in skateboarding, these two brands share an influential heritage deeply rooted in the early days of skateboarding while sharing some of the world’s best skateboarders including current team riders from Amateur to Legendary such as Gilbert Crockett, Anthony Van Engelen, Geoff Rowley, Tony Trujillo, Andrew Allen, Curren Caples, Daniel Lutheran, Dustin Dollin, Elijah Berle, Jason Dill, Omar Hassan, Pedro Barros, Christian Hosoi, Jeff Grosso, John Cardiel, Ray Barbee, Steve Caballero and Tony Alva. Like Vans, Independent has offered skateboarding hardgoods since the late 70’s, providing the functional equipment that hardcore skaters rely on to this day.
