Still feeling the effects of champagne and tequila from Titan Shangri-la Plaza's grand opening, we made our way back to Quezon City a little before midnight and ended up on Scout Rallos near the corner of Tomas Morato to check out Señor Pollo. Let's find out what all the chicken hype is about, shall we?
It was about 11:40 pm and the roast chicken was no longer available so we ordered fried chicken instead.
Second floor interior.
The verdict? The fried chicken was nothing special BUT you can still enjoy the freshly cooked pieces IF you do what we did.
The chicken comes with gravy but I suggest you mix these two to come up with a better dipping sauce.
Order side dishes to fully enjoy your meal. They make the chicken parts taste so much better. Here's the patatas bravas.
Spicy rice. Way better when served hot.
Latin coleslaw.
Mac and cheese.
We came here hungry and still went home with leftovers. 4 pieces of chicken and 4 side dishes were too much for two people!
Watch your step going down.
Señor Pollo was worth the short trip even though there was nothing mind-blowing about the chicken. If you're a chicken and gravy type of person, you're better off at (INSERT FAVORITE CHICKEN JOINT HERE). I say experiment with the sauces and don't be boring with the side dishes (white rice and fries, though?) for a full "Latin chicken" experience. Will I be going back anytime soon? Most definitely. Why? The sides. THE SIDES!!!
