CASE OF THE MISSING JEWELS

| Posted in | Posted on Thursday, November 06, 2008

Contrary to what most people think, I worked hard for whatever it is that I had and continue to work for what little I have now. So it's just natural for me to get upset, VERY UPSET, when something is taken away from me.

I've been keeping an eye on what little I have left ever since I moved back to my parents' house. My room was set up in such a way that everything I own is within plain view. My clothes are neatly folded and stacked on top of a double decker bed even though I have a walk in closet while my shoes are piled by the shelf next to my desk. My notebook , external hard drive and Canon G9? I take them with me wherever I go. I seriously can't afford to lose them.

This brings me to why I came up with this entry.

When I was informed by my buddy about a special Lebron release on Friday, I already knew what I was gonna rock to the event. The Air Zoom Generation. Lebron James' first signature shoe. To me, this ranks second (behind the Air Zoom Lebron 2) out of the nine or so Lebron sneakers (Zoom Generation, Zoom Lebron, Soldier, Ambassador) Nike has released. I love the first model so much I keep comparing the black ones to the Air Jordan III (black/cement). Both are classics and easy favs.

I remember last wearing them to the office when I posted THIS and I haven't seen them since. I tried looking for them in every corner of the house but to no avail.

SOMEBODY STOLE MY FUCKING SHOES

UNBELIEVABLE

I CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE HOW UPSET I AM RIGHT NOW

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO JACKED THEM

THE MAIDS PERHAPS? Which one? Don't even ask. My mom has gone through several batches of maids since September. Who knows who stole my shoes.

SMH

Not that it'll be difficult for me to get another pair. It's just that this pair meant a lot to me. This was the last pair I bought back in 2005 before somebody very dear to me passed away. The Zoom Lebron 3 was later to be released that year and I was surprised to see the first one still on the shelves of Nike Park Gateway Mall less 40% retail. This was the last pair I purchased before I unexpectedly and unconsciously went into retirement from collecting sneakers. Don't get me wrong though, the passion is still there but I've seriously cut down on my purchases.

Enough with the rant

Come to think of it, every item in the photo above is no longer with me. Nautica Old Brew T, Armani Exchange J101 jeans and Rolex Datejust.
