Singapore-based NikeTalker sircsetroc is currently in town and asked me a couple of weeks ago if we could meet up and grab some drinks. It was a chance for him to finally get his hands on a NikeTalk Tee after waiting for a couple of months. Since it was my rest day, I decided to add him to a long list of NikeTalkers worldwide I've met in person. I drove from Quezon City all the way to The Renaissance Makati City Hotel a little before midnight to avoid heavy traffic. When I called before leaving the house, he was already having drinks at the hotel with a bunch of Nike Park staff. They were all gone (thank God) by the time I got there.
We chatted for a bit about the regional sneaker scene and how it has evolved into something bigger and different over the years.
