I checked out the grand opening of the new Planet Sports flagship store on 30th St. (between 9th and 11th Ave.) in Bonifacio Global City last Friday after I got an invitation from Justin. I didn't know what to expect but I was pretty impressed with what I saw. 2 floors with so many good brands and products to choose from. The event was attended by VIPs, media, celebrities and people representing different sports brands the store carries (I was surprised to see some folks from the regional office). There was a DJ, food & drinks, and a fashion show highlighted by pole dancers.

If you're in the area and you're looking for a one-stop shop for sports brands, don't hesitate to check this store out. You won't be disappointed especially if you are a female. The whole second floor is purely for women! Peep my photos from the event followed by the official press release/photos.

Planet Sports Unveils Something Special

With a 2nd floor dedicated to women’s fitness wear

Bringing something fresh to the sports retail world, Planet Sports opens the doors of its new flagship store in Bonifacio High Street.

With women’s fitness on the rise, the two storey store has an alluring 2nd floor which is dedicated to women’s fitness by providing an extensive variety of apparel, footwear, and accessories for women. The store is geared towards giving women the complete shopping experience they need for everything sports and fitness.

The Planet Sports mantra of “play + style” comes together in the store as it fuses the understanding of women as devoted health and fitness advocates as well as fashion enthusiasts. The widespread range of merchandise will have women looking fashionably sporty in the daily activities they participate in.

President of Planet Sports Inc. Anton Gonzalez says “The two major brands, Nike and Adidas, wanted to use the Philippines as their launch ground for their women’s only concept in South East Asia, so with a close collaboration with the brands, we decided to do it.”

Nike Philippines Director Loulette Quinio adds “Nike has always taken pride in the power and strength of the female athlete, women in general, and the Filipino woman in particular. I cannot think of a better space to showcase Nike’s belief in woman power than this new store, and extend our congratulations and best wishes to Planet Sports.”

Serious and casual athletic customers are sure to come across some great finds on the 245 square meter ground floor space with the major sporting brands, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, K-Swiss, Arena, Converse, Mizuno and Zoot providing extensive and visually pleasing merchandise.

Interior design of the store is done with such class by Architect Gil Coscoluella of W.V. Coscoluella and Associates. The walls and ceiling are heavy on wood and well lit making it highly visible to the vehicles passing along the busy 32nd street with parking readily available across the road.

Adding to the homey feel of the store is a lounge area where women shopping with friends can sit and relax as friends do their shopping.

A must see feature of the store is a stunning shoe chandelier which hangs down from the ceiling on top of the staircase which adds a certain elegance to the store.

Adidas Philippines Marketing Manager Adrien Semblat comments “The Adidas Women on the 2nd floor is the first multibrand shop-in-shop Adidas Women in the Philippines. It is the brand’s way of reaching out to all the women in the country who are looking to either train harder to be stronger, or those starting a healthier, more active lifestyle.”

Already located in major malls around Metro Manila and the Philippines, Planet Sports Bonifacio High Street is the 17th Planet Sports store. “Bonifacio High Street is known as one of the main business districts that companies are focused on in the present and future” according to Mr. Gonzalez.

Planet Sports Bonifacio High Street is located on W Building on 30th street at the heart of the shopping district, with female favourite destinations around the corner like a spa, fitness gym, and posh shopping brands.
