Between 2008-2010, I was a regular at one restaurant in Greenbelt 3 that served locally brewed tap beer. It broke my beery heart when it closed down. Now, after years of looking for a similar joint, the beers Gods have blessed me with this. Pretty good tap beer and mouth-watering grub. Welcome to The Brewery At The Palace!

About 6 months ago, I was on Instagram scrolling through my feed when I saw #NT legend @airrev post a photo of what I thought was an original pair of K-Swiss SI-18 International from 1989. I posted "No way!" and forgot about the shoes. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when another colorway popped up on my screen. I knew then that I was late and K-Swiss had re-issued the "Tennis Shoe of the Year" (3 years in a row). I told myself that I HAD to have one!

I remember drooling over my cousin kuya Bernard's pair back in the early 90's. It was one of the few models that I always wanted but missed out on as a kid because I was only limited to 1-2 pairs of sneakers per school year. My brothers and I had the K-Swiss Classic and they became part of my sneaker rotation for years. I even picked up a pair of wheat/gum Classics and wore them (with the tags on, lol) to the K-Swiss International-sponsored Sneaker Pimps Manila back in 2005. With my undying love for timeless sneakers, the SI-18 International remained as my K-Swiss holy grail for over 20 years.

These may not be the OG colorway but the 1992 version is just as sweet! Thank you K-Swiss and Eric Sarin for bringing them back! You can check out his interview HERE.

Rainy night got us driving around QC for some good bulalo. Saw THIS on Don A. Roces Ave. with 4.4 out of 5 facebook star rating from 181 reviews. Should be good, yeah? HELL NO. THE WORST SPECIALTY RESTAURANT EVER. You'll be better off boiling your old used socks and throwing in some Spam/Vienna sausage slices. We ordered the "Family Bulalo w/ bone marrow (2-3 persons)" but all we got was a 1/3 bowl of white broth that tasted like fish sauce. We thought the meat and veggies were going to be served separately but after waiting 5 minutes we found small several chunks of meat and 2 pieces of pechay in the soup. 320 pesos for a bowl of shit that I wouldn't even give to homeless people. NEVER AGAIN!

I haven't been THIS stoked over a pair of sneakers in years. After waiting 20 plus years,  I can't believe I will finally have them! Thank you K-Swiss Philippines and Planet Sports! These babies will see a lot of action within the next few months.
